Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming “Wow, What a Ride!”

ideas etc.

Every so often I come across something that is a good idea. Most of what I find comes from Pinterest, an excellent resource for ideas, information, and storage. Here, I will post some that I think are fun to share. I will provide the direct link to the article if I can. You can also visit my Pinterest board "hum, that's an idea." Use the Pinterest link found in the right-hand column.

recycle a mini christmas light when you need just a little light for a little while~

What You Need:

  • Christmas tree lights
  • Copper wire strippers
  • AA batteries
  • Electrical tape
  • Table
  • Notebook
  • Pencil

What You Do:

  1. use wire strippers to cut one light from the string of Christmas tree lights. leave at least one inch of the strand on either side of the light.
  2. strip the green insulation off the last quarter inch of both of the strand's ends.
  3. Using the electrical tape to secure the stripped wire on the battery to get the light to turn on.
  4. press the wire on the battery through the electrical tape.
  5. Be aware that if you are recycling an old strand of lights, a couple bulbs might be broken. In this case, the light won't go on no matter what you do. Keep working until you find a working light.

Milk Jug Lunch Bucket-

To add the snap just punch a hole in the flap of the lid and another 1/2 way down on the bottom section of the front. Buy cheap snaps at Walmart and follow the instructions to insert. To get the smell out soak over night with white vinegar. Rinse and then use Dawn to ensure any remaining residue is gone.
